A Southend Family Engagement Session | Charlotte + Richard

From the moment I first met Charlotte and Richard, I was immediately grabbed by how much this little family centred around their two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Sophie.

Their beautiful home, in Southend-on-Sea, was the starting point of their lovely engagement session in the summer of 2016 and having the girls involved in the shoot was the most natural thing. I loved being able to capture this family all together, especially as Charlotte had mentioned they didn’t really have too many photographs of them all together as a family.

Jessica and Sophie have such different personalities. I love how fiercely independent they both already are and it was certainly a fun challenge to capture them with my camera! After spending a bit of time with them both at a carpet afternoon tea picnic and then out in the garden with the hose pipe (loved capturing those images!), Charlotte, Richard, Stu and I all headed over to Priory Park to get some photos of just these two together as well. It was a glorious afternoon and I loved how these two got totally into each other while we photographed them. This was also our first opportunity to try out a new film camera Stuart had found at a market in Covent Garden the month before too. I’m absolutely thrilled with the images we got out of it so I’ll make sure I share a couple at the end of this blog post.

And on film…

For a family session or a couple shoot, why don’t you get in touch?
