Hylands Park Chelmsford Engagement Shoot | Tracy + Paul

A Hylands Park Chelmsford Engagement Shoot

Well hey, I got behind with blogging… I mean, reeeeaaaaalllly behind. Because here comes an engagement session from last year… oops!

I first met Paul through the ‘day job’ and I was recommended to him as a photographer by his sister, Tina, who I’ve also worked alongside for a number of years. Paul shared with me that he and Tracy were finally getting married after spending a *cough* good number of years together. They were planning a really lovely small wedding and were keen on having an engagement shoot as Tracy admitted she really hated having her photograph taken. I honestly can’t think why, as you can see, she’s a gorgeous woman.

We met up at Hylands Park in Chelmsford one warm July evening for a wander around the stunning grounds. Hylands Park is a favourite place of mine, I must admit. I’ve photographed a few engagement and family sessions there now and I never tire of the place, it’s just so pretty!

Tracy and Paul were looking for natural photographs in a lovely green setting so Hylands Park definitely fit the bill. As well as the house and beautiful gardens, there are the woods and the wide open areas, as well as a cute little cottage that I particularly like because of its unusual wall – all my couples know how much I love a wall! The weather couldn’t have been more perfect and we were there at the right time to get some of that beautiful golden sunshine in the hour or so before sunset as well – my absolute favourite light for photographs!

I loved how natural these two were around each other, even with me clicking away with my camera. Although I suppose a decade or more together should certainly help that 😉 I had a lot of fun capturing these images, Tracy and Paul really are the loveliest couple. And I’ll be sharing some images from their beautiful wedding very soon too, so keep your eyes peeled!
