So, what information do I collect?
I have a variety of forms I send out to you through the course of our working together, which will ask for a few personal details about yourselves. These might include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your home address
- What you like to do in your spare time (other than reading Privacy Policies!)
And what do I do with this information?
I use this information to contact you and, later, if you book me, to shoot your branding session or write for your business.
When you complete one of my forms on my website, it goes straight to my inbox. I also enter your information into my project management software (I use ClickUp) just so I can keep track of what I’ve done for you and what I need to do.
And I have a tendency to put your number in my contacts on my phone because I can never find the email I want when I need to contact you. I’ve got one of those trendy phones with automatic Face ID recognition, dontcha know? That’s it!
Downloads
Some of you might have access to downloading images as part of your photography packages (super swish, environmentally friendly, techno whizzes mostly) in which case this will happen through the wonders and wizardry of my gallery website, Pic-Time. Pic-Time is fully GDPR compliant as of May 2018. Other than that and your pretty pictures, they don’t hold much other information about you but they assure me they won’t be using any of that information at all to contact you in any way. If they do get in touch with you and you haven’t permitted it, just let me know and I’ll go over there and kick some arses.
The only thing you’ll ever be asked to download are your very own images. I do make every effort to make sure there is nothing dodgy attached to your files but can’t promise anything so, just to be safe, run them through some antivirus software when you’ve downloaded them before opening them.
Mailing Lists and Emails
As I said before, the only emails you’ll get from me will be those that directly relate to your enquiry or booking.
It’ll be stuff like: here’s what I charge; don’t forget your booking fee; and hey, your final balance is due (in other words, give me your money!). Actually, I hate sending those emails out, there will be more about finding out about you and getting to know you a little better, I promise. Also, invoices are now sent through Quickbooks who also have your contact details but that’s just so I can send the invoice without having to write your email in every time.
For those that want it, I do have a mailing list which I use MailerLite for. I will only send those emails out to people who have signed up to the mailing list and MailerLite are on the ball with GDPR. They’ll ask you about a dozen times if you’re sure you want to sign up to this mailing list. Are you sure? Are you really, 100% absolutely and completely sure?! Hit the button, you’ll see… 😉
