At Stanley Park on a cold winter’s evening, we pulled over just as the sun spilled gold across the water. The air was sharp, the waves soft against the shore, and yet the light felt warm enough to stand still for a while. We’d just become Canadian citizens, and it was as if the city had saved this sky for us — a quiet reminder that after all the places I’ve stood with my camera, this is the place I now call home.
