From the High Line, I paused over W 23rd Street, drawn to the symmetry of the junction and the chance to play with a slow shutter. New York is always in motion — cars, people, lights — but watching the blur of traffic from above brought a strange kind of calm. The chaos turns into rhythm when you step back, and for a moment, the city feels almost serene.
