“Spiral”, Copenhagen, 2018

In Copenhagen’s Palm House, I found myself clinging to this spiral staircase — partly because I’m clumsy and the drop felt a bit too real, and partly because the view looking down was too good to resist. The ironwork twists into a perfect pattern, echoing the Fibonacci spiral you see in shells and ferns, while the greenery presses in close as if nature’s reclaiming it. That mix of order and wildness is exactly why I love glasshouses: they’re messy and magical all at once.
