A Year in Review – 2022: The Year That Was

A Year in Review – 2022: The Year That Was

by Sarah Wayte | year in review

I nearly decided to jack in this annual review malarkey this year. Mostly because 2022 was a rough year and I didn’t feel too much like looking back over those 12 months. Rough, not because of terrible things happening (although there were plenty of things in the...
Understanding Your Home Page’s Ultimate Goal Will Help You Write Awesome Copy

Understanding Your Home Page’s Ultimate Goal Will Help You Write Awesome Copy

by Sarah Wayte | advice, copywriting

You know that saying “Don’t ever judge a book by its cover”? Yeah, I am that person, the one judging a book by its cover and that’s why I’m now in a sorry mess when it comes to my to-read list. I won’t go into too much detail but suffice it to say there are currently...
What Being a Paramedic Taught Me About Running a Business

What Being a Paramedic Taught Me About Running a Business

by Sarah Wayte | advice, business

Look, I know it sounds weird and hard to believe, but I became a paramedic quite by accident. Obviously not the sort of “whoops, spilt the milk!” kind of accident. It wasn’t totally unforeseen. BUT it was never my intention to be a paramedic and I certainly never...
2021 – The Year We Moved House In A Natural Disaster

2021 – The Year We Moved House In A Natural Disaster

by Sarah Wayte | branding, business, copywriting, family, head shots, personal, photography, year in review

I feel a little bit like a time traveller right now. Because honestly? I don’t know where the hell 2021 went. And I knoooow I talk about time like this an awful lot. But its passing seems to have been more pronounced in the last 12 months. Why is that? Who knows. It...
How to Write the Best Enquiry Follow Up Email Ever!

How to Write the Best Enquiry Follow Up Email Ever!

by Sarah Wayte | advice, copywriting

I’ve never been a fan of selling. Something about it feels a bit icky and pushy, and it just sets my teeth on edge. So, for the longest time, I would respond to enquiries in the least salesy way I could muster and then… nothing. Sure, sometimes I would hear back...
What is brand voice, and why is it important?

What is brand voice, and why is it important?

by Sarah Wayte | advice, copywriting

Have you ever bought (or borrowed) a book just because its cover caught your eye? Maybe it was super pretty, or there was something quirky about the design. Either way, it caught your eye and you bought it even though you had no idea what it was even about. No? Just...
How to get those natural smiles in your brand photos

How to get those natural smiles in your brand photos

by Sarah Wayte | advice, branding, photography

People often say to me how much they love the natural photos I share on my socials. But, they worry about looking natural in front of the camera or that their smiles feel forced, and they want that natural, unposed, candid look. Well, here’s the sneaky truth. Those...
Why There’s Really No Point Worrying About Enquiries Ghosting You

Why There’s Really No Point Worrying About Enquiries Ghosting You

by Sarah Wayte | advice, business, copywriting

There seems to be a real obsession with this whole idea of “ghosting” at the moment. I see posts on Facebook on a near-daily basis of people worrying or grumbling about their enquirers ghosting them after they’ve sent a reply. I’ve wanted to...
How to win over an enquiry with a templated email response

How to win over an enquiry with a templated email response

by Sarah Wayte | advice, copywriting

Email templates. The very thought of them sounds formal and, well, kinda boring, right? Wrong! Email templates don’t have to be dull, and they certainly don’t have to be impersonal. I’ve been using template emails in my business for many years now,...
Why Springtime Headshots Are The Absolute Best

Why Springtime Headshots Are The Absolute Best

by Sarah Wayte | branding, head shots, photography

You’d think an allergy sufferer like me would much prefer the sterile environment of an indoor studio for headshots. Hey, when my nose is streaming and my eyes are puffy and itching, I’m inclined to agree with you. But what can I say? Something keeps drawing me back...

I live and work as a guest on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded shared territory of the Cheam, Sts’ailes, Sq’éwlets, and Seabird Island peoples.

As a recent immigrant, I’m still learning what it means to live on land with a much deeper story than I was taught. I’m grateful for the care Indigenous communities have shown this land for generations and I’m committed to listening more, learning and showing up in ways that support reconciliation, not just talk about it.

Creative copywriting, author services and brand photography based in BC, Canada—serving bold, creative clients across the UK, Europe, Canada, the USA,  Australia and Aotearoa.
